Default need help with vtec gasket

I got a 1st gen b16 in my crx that was installed by a well known shop.Ive had the motor in my car for a little over a year with no problems except for the vtec seal (gasket with a small screen attached to vtec housing). I have had to replace this gasket 4 times.Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

try using some gasket sealer or hondabond around the housing... im assuming your talking about the vtec solenoid right?

Exactly what I did. Careful not to obscure the screen area. I just put a small bead of hondbond around the rubber and torqued down evenly and lightly. No leaks for 4500 miles and counting

I too, will try this in the hope it will remedy the prob. I have replaced 4 of these gaskets in the past three days. At low rpm's (not using vtec) no prob, but as soon as I kick it in, BAM....oil city. I have talked to Opak, Jackson Racing, dealerships, and it's now in a Honda/Acura Certified mechanic shop, and they too are going nuts.

NOBODY has a clue

Oil pressure checks out within spec, I replaced the screen in the celenoid, gone thru gallons of oil...all my hair is pulled out....

I'll let ya know what happens........

I applied the hondabond, let it set for a few hours after snugging things up.

So far, no leak.

I still wonder why this continual gasket blowing marathon out of the clear blue sky occured in the first place.

I drove it the same before as I do now...didn't blow gaskets then, blew six in one week....however

Hondabond is working so far
