no vss and vtec

Default no vss and vtec

ok my friend has a 90 si with a obd1 gsr in it... anyways.. still has a b16 cable tranny.. vtec and speedo worked fine. then he took the vss out to put oil in it.. put it back in and they no speedo. along with no vtec naturally.. but he changed the vss cable and clip.. and still nothing.. the ecu throws no code either.. what could it be? anyone has an answer please let me know thanks.

installing a sir ef9 cluster and VSS. wanted to know what the 3 wires on the vss go to.

1. Black
2. Yellow
3. Blue

Pull the cluster out. Go for a grive and make sure that the cable in the cable drive is spinning. I doubt it is, but just on the off chance that it is, plug it back into the cluster and go for a drive again. If it doesn't work then the connection on the back of the cluster to the cable is messed up.

If it wasn't working then either the cable is snapped, the cable isn't insertd into the tranny gear drive properly, or the gear drive is messed up. Most likely the cable wasn't inserted into the gear drive properly. That's where I put my $10.

this is what im tryin to figure out..right now i got my factory speedo cable installed directly into the tranny,is this right?..i got a b16 in my 88 crx si..do i need that part that came with the tranny,when i got it it was broken and blocking the hole to put my factory cable in..what should i do?
