Where are the 'ITR VIN comes up as Integra RS' threads?
If anyone knows what these threads were titled as, or have them saved the links.... let me know.
I'd like to understand WHY this error is made sometimes... seems like someone's coding system for VIN's has an error. 8th digit is model type/vehicle grade... 4 for RS and 1 for ITR. Seems like an error in someone's computer.
I'm having a similar issue with my credit union on my loan.
I know the title will say Integra Type R when i get it from AHFC - but I'd like to understand how/why the CU got Integra RS by running my VIN.
Thanks.

Not sure actually.
I'm going to wait till the title comes from honda... then i'll sit down and further explain to them. My loan check is sent, and I had them change the loan agreement to show the 'real' model name, not Integra RS.
Good info on VIN breakdown btw - http://www.team-integra.net/se...h=vin

That isn't the issue - I have ran my VIN before.
I'm just wondering how/why banks/cu's get it wrong sometimes. Like Mark said, maybe autocheck screwed up their coding system.

I'm having the same issue, only w/my new insurance.
They insured my car as a GSR, eventhough they have my VIN.
Perhaps my Mom told them "it's the fast Integra.
"
Chris I have the page of the helms that explains the VIN coding if you need it.

DsR - I checked the helms and found a good breakdown on TI (link above somewhere).
Autocheck comes up as an Integra RS. I might call them and see what their problem is.

someone screwed up when they originally put your info into the data base, thats wthe only thing i can think off. just run down to your bank and show them the car and the tittle to prove that it is an R
I called the company AutoCheck that has the database issue. They took the information down and it was forwarded to their research team. Hopefully they'll actually do something, they said they'd call me back. We shall see.

Mark - thanks for mentioning autocheck.
I just assumed everyone used NADA and had completely forgotten about that crappy service they offer.
I emailed, dave called, and got a ticket opened to fix the issue. Hopefully they fix s00n.

-da R owners and split-dawg for being proactive. Now we don't have to camp out infront of autocheck w/picket signs

Hello Chris,
I submitted this to our vin decode team for review. It turns out
that you are correct and that it is being displayed incorrectly. There
is an error that is occurring when the description data is loaded, causing it to
show as RS rather than R. Our vin decode team has submitted a ticket to
correct this. The good news is that every month they do updates on vehicle
descriptions. The bad news is that the correction from RS to R will not
show on the report until sometime around March 22nd. Please feel free to use
this email as a confirmation that we are displaying the information
incorrectly at this time, but are in the process of correcting the mistake. If a
potential customer/dealer etc has any questions about this, please have
them give me a call at 888-409-2204 so I can answer any questions they may
have.
Thanks for your help on this one! Have a great evening!
