mysterious oil leak .

Default mysterious oil leak .

i got a 03 r6 , my friend dropped the bike on the left side and when we picked it up , oil started dripping out . im new to bikes but what could be the problem ??

hi i have an o3 r6 as well , i dont know if it is possible , but the oil filter is on that side and it could have possibly punctured it? check that out and good luck with it man!

pretty sure its the stator cover. Probably got a small crack in it somewhere.

its not the oil filter , it is coming from that cover tho , is that bad ??

I would have to agree, the only fix is retribution. knock him out!
A quick fix would be letting a professional tell you what the problem is. Most likely needs money to plug the leak.

Nah, just keep topping it off with oil, you should be alright....psyche...get it fixed.

haha na tryin to teach my friend how to ride the bike , and underestimated the throttle .

i fell before , i aint ashamed of it -=D

but what is a stator ?? lol

its the ignition cover(stator cover). I bought a brand new one for my f4i off ebay for 65bux. Check out ebay for some.

Either that or you can get jb weld and put some on. I used it on my ex500 stator cover. That thing had a huge hole and cracks everywhere. I couldnt find one on ebay so i jb welded it. worked fine.

the stator is an alternator for a bike.....the stator cover is the cover on the lower left side sticking out of the fairing

Bikes have wet alternators. They are soaked in oil just like the clutch discs.
