I had this problem after I installed the cold air intake... went to dealership and they said either false or gas pressure in the tank some ****..they reset the computer and it was ok.... and it came back on after one day....
anyone had this kind of problem...????

 

one of my buddy had this problem with his 00 si. he installed his aem cai, and the check engine light came on. he took it to one of my friends, who's a mechanic, and he did something with the harness on the intake, and it turned off. i remember hims saying something about the air temperature sensor not being read.

 

First try putting back the stock intake and see if the check light goes away.

I've been having the same problem. The mechanics at the dealer informed me that some 2000-up Hondas have been having this problem. It's supposedly whenever you fill your gas up to full level, the fuel sensor goes on as flood protection and your check engine light comes on.

 

is it code 1457 had the same problem and got it fixed the dealer if so ill find out what they did to fix it.

 

code 1457 need to replace your two way valve and solenoid should solve your problem.

I tried to find out and ...code 9...engine light was blinking 9 times...
I went to dealership on thur and it happened again on friday.... they said something up with gas tank pressure or something....and might be false alarm....
man...I want to feel v-tec wihout worries.....

Code 9 is a crank angle sensor. Not sure why the intake would cause that.

 

Crank angle sensor codes usually mean that your distributor is on the way out. Take the distributor cap off and see if it's a bit rusty inside... Honda don't sell bearings separately but I understand that someone on here found appropriate bearings somewhere...

Oh and no, it wouldn't have anything to do with the CAI. It would just be a coincidence.

i'm having the same problem with my 2000 R right now. i checked the code and took it in and it said fuel system pressure was off. code 90. i checked it myself by jumping those two wires on the pass side. well i took it back two more times because it kept coming up. each time they said my gas cap wasn't tightened or some ****. bah, so now they said that the canister in the emissins system can be faulty in some 2000 hondas so they ordered a new canister. they are gonna put it in and check it out and ill let you guys know what happens. by the way my car is stock with 22k miles. it had 12k when i got it in april. the light came on maybe a month ago for the first time.

 

would it be ok juss driving around tho....man...
I must find out soon cuz...it makes me crazy.................

hey man, its not code 9, its code 90, E.V.A.P. mine is doing it as well. not sure what the cause is... I'll let you know as soon i figure it out.
