Ball Joint Ques....Searched
Hey wzup? i searched for a while about this..but i cant find tha answer im lookin for directly... i stripped my lower ball joint on my 94 civic dx while doin my swap.. do i really need to have a new one "pressed" in or will a rubber mallet take care of it? old one out..new one in.. TIA
yea i would get it pressed but tha car cant move till i get that nut and cotter pin on there...so its kinda a shitty situation.. you did it before with a mallet?
dude I'm a newbie so i can't IM you back. I did get your IM though.
Baiscally my buddies did it for me at the shop. It cost like $30 for a OEM ball-joint and took them like 20-30min to install it in. I always thought that you need to machine press it in but my car seems fine. I had them replace both of them just cause i was pheranhoid about them droping on me.
I would asume they used a mallet.... I know they've done other people ball-joints as well w/out any issues.
