Another happy GM Syncromesh user.
Well last week my tranny started grinding (crunching) 3rd (b16a2) when shifting quickly at high rpms (8k ans up)
so i threw some new honda oem tranny fluid in and it was smoother and crisp... but still grinding...
so i picked up some GM Syncromesh (not the friction modified, the reg stuff)
for the first few hundred miles it didn't seem to make a difference at all so i was pissed at spending good money on very expensive tranny fluid.
Now, about 600 or 700 miles after the GM Syncromesh was put in, where it was grinding every time, it now makes a little tiny click into gear 1/10 times, perfectly the rest of the time.
All gears feel much smoother and go in in like 1/2 the time.
So to wrap it all up, GM Syncromesh kicks ***. But it takes a little while.
Just of of curiosity... why does it take time to work? can anyone explain that to me? i'm very interested for some reason.

We put that in my bro's s2k. Didn't fix the grind yet, which might be due to completely ruined synchro's. Overall the FM GM synchromesh has made the tranny much smoother, but it looks like the problems are more than the magic fluid can fix.
I have used Synchromesh and it does wonders. The reason why it took a while for it to kick in is because it needed time to bond with the gears. I guess it was trying to get to know it on a personal level
