Default HI

I hope im not over stepping my boundaries by coming to your site, BUT im in need of some kind of assistance. I just recently bought a 1998 Honda Civic HatchBack DX and im wanting to for it all over from head to toe. I havent done anything to it so far because to be honest i'm lost and have no idea what to do. I also recently joined a car club in hopes of getting some insider info on engine mods but most the people that live around these parts dont ahve any idea what the hell they are talking about or know what they are doing. So i was hoping you wouldnt mind giving me some advice and info into engine mods. I'm not sure where to even begin. Money not a real big isue i can get it and get it pretty fast. If you dont mind humoring a new guy are these real engines if so how much STOCK BHP or HP do they produce. b16b2, b18b2, b18c5, b20b2, b22b5, h20, h22b2, and k22 or even k14. Well see i guess what im wanting to know is whats the best engine for my car im wanting 180 to 280 stock HP before turbocharger or supercharger. I'm not even sure if thats at all possible I guess i was wonting to know was what engine could i FIT in my car with the MOST STOCK HORSE POWER before any real engine mods. A SPOON a S SPEC or TYPE R i mean im not sure. I know u guys probably dont ahve time to answer every little question i have i mean im just wanting to get going in the right direction and was hoping someone could share some info. Like i said im looking for an engine that has the most stock HP. I know i need to upgrade the following: intake manifold, throttle body, cold air intake, fuel pump, water pump, cat back exhaust, headers, exhaust gaskets, distributor cap, radiator, cam gears, pulleys, cooling fan, clutch, flywheel, fuel rail, fuel regulator, pistons, piston rings, crank shaft, cylinder heads, valve springs, spark plugs, and when i add a turbo or super on it blow off valves, waste boot, polisha nd port the engine, stroker, 150 Hitt direct port WETT NoS, ECT...... Thats all i can think off please Please PLEASE if there is any little thing i forgot let me know please let me know. Another question i had is it any way possible to go with all one product and have a really reliable system as far as engine MODS like: AEM, GREDDY, JDM, TANABE, ECT.... I'm wanting to push upwards towards 400 HP is thats even possible. I'm wanting to upgrade every single thing on my car, from ENGINE SWAP to ENGINE MODS to SUSPENSION to BRAKE SYSTEM ECT....
I really need some help and im hoping someone could take the time and explan every little thing to me im willing to do my home work on everything just need to know what to look for and whats the best to go with. If there is anyone out there that woudlnt mind teaching me to walk so to speak I would deeply appreciate it..... Was first wondering what MODIFACATION should i start with brakes suspension the engine or what...
I currently live in Oklahoma and im in need of some help from anyone. If i'm intruding please let me know and i wont post another remark. I'm extremely sry about the for ever long post just needed to explain my self and what im wanting. Thanks for taking the time to read my post and thanks to anyone who can help.

Unless you want a relatively easy swap. If so, ZC or B16.

everyone is going to give you a different answer based on the engine they have put in their car. the best thing i can say is just look at all the specs of the engines. talk with ppl that do each swap, and see what is the most cost effective. gl

well...i have a D16y8 in my car...but if i had some money i would put a K20A (acura rsx type S) or K24 (acura TSX???).

They will be the future for honda and stock they make 200 and 260hp i believe. I don't know too much about them but htey make gobbs of power and respond very well to bolt ons...

You need to think about what kind of car you want and then go from there about the engine swap. Bigger engines = more displacement = more weight, so they're not the best for road racing, but tend to do better on the strips. An H22 would be a good engine for props which is what I think you're going for. Its a realatively hard swap. If you want an cheap, easy car, it would be ideal for the DOHC ZC. Then you have the B series... The B series engines meet somewhere in the middle of the previous two engines. If I had the money, I would personally go with a GSR engine, or maybe a B17 or B16 because I'm wanting to do more road racing than dragging.

Just do some research, and find out what you really want and what would be best for you.

I know they fabricated mounts and it does work but i have tranny alignment issues and i dont know if i should swap engines and keep the tran, or if i should do a convertion kit on the trans, or if i should just tranny swap. LOL i got issues but i would love to vtech my car and turbo it Any one have any ideas that will get me going in the right direction please let me know. tHX
