Default Do insurance company's pay well for your stolen/totaled ITR's?

Just wondering if (hopefully not) insurance has to pay off my ITR for whatever reason, do they usually give what the car's worth...considering it's an ITR??

I know I'm paying more on my insurance policy b/c it's an ITR vs. just a GS-R, but I wonder if they recognize the higher value of the ITR in this situation. I wouldn't want to be screwed by my insurance if I'm in that situation.

What are people's experiences ?

Thanks!

I made bank when I wrecked my 2000 PY ITR. Had 20K on it I think. Think I came out with around $30K after getting insurance settlement of $25K and then selling the wrecked car.

just sell the car to someone who will appreciate the car this is a rare breed thats dying off fast and it kinda sounds like your asking about insurance fraud but forgive me if this is truly a legitimate question.

every insurance company is diffrent.

trust me,
i'm not asking b/c of insurance fraud.
i just live in a high-theft area and with all this talk of ITR's getting stolen/totaled I thought it would suck even more to be screwed by my insurance company if I become part of the statistic...especially since my insurance rate is higher than a GS-R.

When mine was stolen, the insurance was prepared to offer me $16,000. This is for a 2001 black ITR that had already been stolen once before. Fortunately, they found it.
