Important questions about Rear Sway Bars
Is it ok to put a rear sway bar on a 100% stock 90 Si? I ask, because I wonder if any other components need to be beefed up prior to installing the rear sway bar.
Also, I plan on picking up the ST rear bar, has anyone had any problems, besides the tricky fitting, such as it causing any more damage to the suspension?
Also, is there any other place online to get the ST bar besides http://www.jegs.com and Nopi?
Thanks!

Answer is s not going to hose anything up. Unless it physically interferes with something. Question is if car is basicly stock, and has both Front and rear sway bars why start here.
Hell I h I could find an SI rear sway bar and LCA's for next to nothing. I have no rear sway bar at all right now.
Would I like ST bars , YES, but not if they interfere with my cat back I have now. Its stainless and I am not hacking it up for an aftermarket bar.

I know my car already has a front and rear sway bar, but from what I've read and heard about the differences froma bigger rear sway bar, I thought I'd try one out.
So to clarify, I'm gonna replace the old rear bar with a new, bigger, one.
Also, I don't plan to do any other mods to the car. I really just want to make it handle a little better and understeer less, and for the price of a rear bar, it seems like great first and only mod.

Yes you can but don't go overboard with the setting
I leave my stock HF front bar on with the ST rear on the softest setting because I'm using street tires. I did interfere with the Greddy SP i had on the car, but I mod'd the hangers a lil to keep the banging to a minimum.
this is a very touchy set-up for a stock car so be careful!!!

I was maybe planning on using the middle setting. Of course, I do have street tires and the suspension's all stock. Would the middle setting really put too much stress on the car? I want it to handle better, but I don't want to destroy the car because it can't handle the bar.

Yeah, that's what i'm thinking, it's a cheap enough price, and if it does break anything of the old suspension, then I have a reason to replace and upgrade it!!!
Anyone know of any other place to order it, besides jegs and nopi?

If anything it would be better for the suspension. With both rear LCA's tied together that firmly, the suspension won't be traveling as much due to the stiffness, and both sides of the suspension will be working in conjunction.

He doesn't need to buy a rear sway bar to enjoy understeer, take it off and it will do that very well on its own.
The risk to setting the rear bar to tight is oversteer. That will get you in serious trouble in the street. It may be great on Auto-X track but thats something that will get you killed or at least your car ruined on the street. Proper balance is everything. And understeer can be your friend on the street.

Interfering is about a 50/50 shot, but on a stock car, it shouldn't hit the stock exhaust.
I would probably consider a decent pair of shocks as well, just because if the tail does start getting happy you don't want a car that is compressing the spring and then tossing you toward the other side.
I think the sway bar is a good idea though. I think the sway bar on my Civic did more for the handeling than the H&R springs and illuminas that I put on. The oversteer won't be that bad if you keep it on the softer settings.
As far as I know, there is only one ST bar for the 4th Gen/2nd Gen cars.
