Default how do i get 11.5 compression?

ok, ive been searching and reading all these post and what i get from them is that you cant run forge pistons with out resleeving a h22a block. I DONT WANNA RESLEEVE! so with that said, the highest compression pistons i can use would be the type s piston which puts me at 11. now what else could i do to get to 11.5? mill head? if so, how much? thinner hg, but which one company and how thick? any suggestions or input well help. TIA

This was originally posted by a guy named ranta18

"--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

H22 -
Stock JDM = 10.6:1
Stock Type-S = 11:1
Type-S + 0.020 Mill = 11.6:1
Type-S + 0.030 Mill = 11.9:1
Type-S + 0.035 Mill = 12.2:1

2 layer head gasket is about the same as a 0.010 mill."

I just happened to find it because I was researching on the pistons and someone happened to post it in that thread. Searching can be a real pia.

WHY DONT U WANT TO RESLEEVE...it is better for your engine, it makes it stronger...

The stock sleeves can handle the little bit of extra power I will be adding. No need to spend all that money to overbuild the engine.

yeah... ive built alot of motors and it gets a bit costly on the sleeves! i do agree with you that its better but cant afford it right now and plus its gonna be a very mild setup. this is my last project so i dont wanna spent ton!

another con to resleeving is the necessity of using aftermarket pistons for the rest of the engines life...unless i have bad info...cant go wrong with oem stuff

just my .02...though sometimes a little skewed

For n/a stock sleeves are great. Once you get into boosting a motor though, its a whole different ball game.

stock block is fine

take Type S pistons, get a thin headgasket, and mill the head a tiny bit. You'll have at least 11.5:1
