Finally got around to putting my Axxis Ultimate rear pads in. They went in hard (had to force them in)...
They are dragging a little and now the rear emits this chirping sound while at speed. It goes away with one-click of the ebrake handle.
Taking suggestions on the best way to cure this.

I've used MetalMasters on several cars, probably half-dozen sets. I think every one was tight, I had to file the steel backing plates so they wouldn't bind in the calipers. The amount to file usually amounted to the thickness of the paint, so it was pretty easy.

Went ahead and took a grinder (Dremel) to the tabs on the pads...they didn't need much. Also cleaned up the mounting area with a rag. The pads slid into place...
And the car drives great now. Nothing like driving around with the parking brake on all the time
Thanks for the tip Jim

hey man i had the same problem i jsut took it to the shop they said it was some little screw in the back of the caliper and when it get tight it squeeks and if you don't get it loosened it will blow your cal jsut take it to a brake shop.....they usually lock up in the winter

I just find it odd youd have to grind the pads.</TD></TR></TABLE>My cable was adjusted ok. When you put the pads into the caliper brackets, before installing the caliper, they're so tight I knew it had to be wrong. Maybe with OEM pads they'd fit right in, but I'm talking about several sets of MetalMaster pads, on 4 different cars... All I had to do was file the paint off, it took all of 90 seconds.
A DIFFERENT time I had a stuck parking brake from rust. You gotta have your eyes open when you work on the car. If something doesn't fit right, you fix it...

Yeah what Jim had is the same thing I had. It's really obvious when the pads won't slide into place
