Very nice! I am aiming for 300-350whp on my D16Y8 also. What turbo are you using?

Nice, I went with ther .63 ar, I didn't know precision made a 4bolt option, they flow better than the 5 bolt, or at least thats I was told.

It was custom ordered with the 4-bolt pattern. It makes for a more efficient hot side. Just curious what made you decide to go with the .63? Are you raising redline at all?

Nope, keeping stock redline. Just wanted to have alittle more top end. I was told that it may choke top end flow to make the numbers we are looking for.

The .48 SC50 should be good to around 400whp at 30-32 psi on a 1.6. You have to remember that a .63 will be very laggy on a small 1.6 with a 7000rpm redline. You won't hit full boost until 5500+ rpms depending on other variables in the setup (manifold, exhaust and downpipe size, etc.) The best time to use the .63 is if you are going for top whp #'s on 8000+rpm redline. You have to be careful, alot of the people recommending the .63 are thinking B Series (high redline).

B-series are running .82 ar now and some T4's, D-guys should be running .63 ar.
I'm willing to give up 500 rpm spool time inorder to make more peak HP, and a Tq curve that carries further to redline. Thats the price you pay for an efficient set up.

Thank the lag for the traction and the snail for the action

.82 A/R is ridiculously big. The .63 A/R is going to be good for 500+whp with most turbos. Get 500whp on the street with that big of an A/R and then you will experience real traction problems. The better powerband is worth it IMO. The spool up will be 1000rpms faster, if not more. So many people are shooting for the top end number, when the car may be faster with a smaller top end number and a better powerband. Either way I'm sure your setup will be killer and I can't wait to see dyno results.

When will the setup be complete BTW?

Wow, everyone's getting their setup done in March. Mine won't be finished until this summer, June/July. This is what my setup will be:

Precision SC50 with .48 A/R
Precision AS1025 intercooler
Lovefab SST mani and downpipe
Tial BOV and 38mm wastegate
RC Engineering 550cc injectors
Hondata S200

Yeah me and ELSPOOL should have our cars done by the same month then we can go dyno them then do some roll ons and come drag racing at the track with some slicks. And see what these D's can do.

A/R can't even be talked about like that. It's just the housing size not the wheel. A 45trim with a .63 a/r is nothing like a 57trim .63a/r. Wheel size is how you size turbos and then fine tune it with housings.

I run a 50 trim T3 with a .63 A/R and it certainly will not make 500+ hp. It wouldn't even approach that with .82 a/r.

Correlating different engine series with different A/Rs is the most ridiculous idea.

don't mean to jump on you guys but thats just not how you size turbos.

I was speaking of T3/T4 50 trims only. I know a T3 won't make that kind of power, but a T3/T4 can. I was only referring to the fact that with a bigger A/R and the same size wheel you will make more top end power.
