as u can tell by my name, i have a DA.. and im thinking about getting a accord..

but i need some help on the letters and what they mean like lx and stuff like that.. also what model comes with the v6? and does it come in 5spd? cuz i was on consumerguide.com to check out the specs on it and stuff and they only show'd it in auto, so im not sure.. also do they come in coupe?

now.. question bout buying a car.. im interested in a v6 accord between thoes years, something about 5-6k or cheaper.. with under 100k miles (if possible) and what kinda price should i look for (being stock)?

dx base model yadda yadda has an f22b2, 14 inch wheels (130hp)
lx more comfort features than the dx, same motor, same wheels
ex even more features i think... moonroof blah blah, f22b1, 15" alloys, exaust has a dual tip. (145hp)
se... think options of an ex but with the motor of the lower models...


this is probably a bit flawed but oh well

 

V6 only comes with auto trans. The Ex is the top of the line USDM 5th gen Accord. Grab a manual one and drop in a JDM H22A

 

i know this is out of the way but didnt the newer accords (ie: 2003 or 2004) come with the first manual v-6? i was pretty sure i heard that somewhere..?

 

starting in 03 the v6 accord was offered in a 6spd, something like 240hp........'04 comes avaiable with a sexy *** "sports package" which includes factory groudn effects, 17' gunmetal wheels, short throw shifter (not sure if all the 6spds are short, but the stick i sat in was short as hell) CF bezel, XM radio and some other goodies.......i sat in one at the 04 DET auto show......holy **** was it amazing.....(im not sure if the '03 came witht his sorta package)

go w/ a 94-94 EX.......the 5th gen (94-97) had some changes made in 96, specifically the center counsel, door guards, grill and tail lights....early ones are ALOT better looking IMO.....with around 100k miles u should be able to get one for 4-5K from a dealer, or probaly 2.5-4K from a private owner (depending on condition ovbiously)

 

if i were you i would look for a 94 or a 95 accord dx or lx with under 100k miles (shouldn't be more than about 3500-4500) and then use the rest of your money to turbocharge the stock motor...the f22's respond very well when turbocharged...
