Default Help please with intermittent low idle problem!

Hi guys, I tried this topic awhile ago over at another forum without much success. Purchased a Haynes repair manual which also wasn't a lot of help so I'll try you guys!

Here's the deal: Car runs great. No problems with driveability at all. Car has all stock hardware except for the K&N drop in and Bosch Platinum +4 plugs.

Problem I'm having is that the car seems to idle VERY low in certain conditions. Usually when the car has been run for awhile and then it's sitting and idling. Seems to be worse when the fan kicks in. Doesn't seem to matter what the outside temp is, although it is worse when it's warmer and I run the A/C.

Tried EVERYTHING I can think of doing:

Plugs
Wires
Throttle body cleaning
Fuel filter
cap
rotor
Fuel injector cleaner
Premium, and mid grade gas
Synthetic oil
new PCV valve

I do recall awhile ago that after an oil change, and an 'engine flush' that the car seemed to be better for a short time. Also, after cleaning the PCV valve, it seemed to be okay for awhile.

And this is the problem: After doing something, it will be okay for a short time and then the problem reappears. It is currently idling at around 700-750 is my guess (2 lines below 1000 rpms on the tach) but this will drop to 500-550 (3 lines below 1000 rpms) and sometimes even lower. Car does not ever stall although the vibration is pretty bad and it feels like it's going to stall.

Could it be the plugs? I've heard that Hondas don't necessarily like the +4's very much but the car DRIVES fine, just doesn't idle very well.

Could it be the throttle cable is too loose or that the throttle position sensor is faulty and not getting a constant signal?

ANY advice and help is greatly appreciated guys, thanks for your help in advance!

just a few things I can think of... in order of price.

1) least $$$ check your vaccume hoses.
2) get a Radiator flush
3) check your IAC valve (Idle Air Control Valve)

hope that helps

Loud Accord, thanks for the reply. I will try to check the vacuum hoses but I don't really know where to start!

I just had a rad flush done about a year ago, so that should be okay and the car gives good heat with the temp needle right in the middle area so I don't think the thermostat is shot.

I thought of the IAC valve but I'm unsure how to check it...is it hard to do? Where is it?
