umm what do you mean? it's "lowering springs" lol, lowers you car for handling and gives you a tighter ride...

coilovers do the same job just its adjustable to height...

 

Uh, well, lowering springs are built shorter with higher spring rates, if that helps you.

 

how much will it cost to lower 90 accord,,, not buying the best parts. lowering it like1.85 inch.

Check out http://www.shox.com or browse the classifieds of H-T or ebay for springs. Plan on replacing the shocks too if they are OEM.

 

i mean how do they actually work, like how do you install them and what exactly do they do to lower the car? Are they springs that go over the the stock springs or replace them...? thanks

 

You "SAFELY" remove the old springs and install the new lowering springs. The lowering springs will be shorter in height compared to the stock spring. If you plan on changing your springs I definately recommend changing your shocks too. By the way if you are asking this type of question I would recommend having a shop do this for you.

 

without sounding shitty, you might want to read and research a little. you can learn the basics and ask questions from there

and yes springs are replaced, they do not get covered with new springs

 

ok so $200 that ecludes shocks too???? i did a search and i get mix readings. there was a member who told me i can get the springs $75 + $25 shiping.
$75 is it a good price????
how much will it bee to get a good set of shocks and springs to lower 1.85inch a 90 accord ex.
can i lower it more without useing coilovers???
the reason i ask is because i don't know good the prices,,, even with research u get different brands and different prices. they don't show how good they are. i am inexperienced.
if u ask me about realestate here in philly i give u all the answers because i know about it.but when it comes to shocks and mods to the car i don't know didly ****. lol.
anyway if u guys have PIC OF 90-93 ACCORD LOWERD 1,85 inch please post them so i can chekc them out. most of pic don't tell how much the car is lowerd.

If i was you I would just save my money and buy coil overs, because you can adjust the hight, for prices go to a local shop ask them what they run, search on ebay or even in google that should give you an good overall veiw, it would probably be cheaper to order them online, but I recomend that you pay the extra money to have a professional install them for you if you do not know what your doing

 

if i were u buy a new set of springs they go for like (200-400) depending on brand..
shops charge like 25$ for installation of each spring if your too lazy to do it yourself or dont know how to. some shocks on ebay kyb agx's go for like 175 sometimes excluding shipping... or you can always buy a set of used ones off a member of h-t...

and yes u can lower the car more with other springs, some springs give you a drop of 2 or more after it settles...

 

The setup that Im looking at is KYB AGX for $300 (ebay) and either neuspeed sport springs for $239 (www.neuspeed.com) or on ebay for less.

if you're not that serious about your car's performance or ride quality and just want to lower your car to lose the fender gap and look a little better. Just buy some cheap springs or cheap coilovers. A friend of mine bought some maxspeed coilovers for $95 from a local shop and had them installed for $80. be aware that this is going to make your car bounce all over the place and will probably drive you crazy after time.

the best advice i can give you is do it right the first time.

since your car is a '90 it will probably need some new shocks anyway, so save yourself some money in the long run and have the shop install those at the same time. if you just want a cheap, descent drop, and knowing the fact that it snows there often, i would get some h&r sports, neuspeed sports, eibach pro-kit or sportlines for springs, and some kyb gr2's, kyb agx's, or tokico hp's (blues).

opposite- much less soft than stocks

 

the ones that i have are tighter wound with thinner coils.
From what it seems.. tighter/more winds increase the spring rate (stiff), and thinner coils aren't as strong as thicker coils. oh yeah the tighter wind is to support the loss of thickness in the coil. So the car has a lower stance.

so your saying its easier to push down the stock coils, then the aftermarket springs?( i.e compress the springs back on the the struts)

when I had intrax springs , the stock springs was no where near soft compared to the intrax. Could compress the intrax with my hands, and could bot budge an inch on the stock with spring compressors.

 

i am more serious about the car performance and the ride quality but i wanna lower the car to so it can look good. how much can i buy a good set of decent springs that are not going to make me bauce like cangoru.lol. i will be installing them my self. because i don' have a lot of money. and i need to same money so i can buy a good set of springs.
to the guys who have done drops on their 90-93 accord---what springs brand should i buy and how much lower should i go on my 90 accord. keep in mind i got those stock rims that the ex's have.
