ok i took the head off. everyone is telling me that the rings are blown but if the rings were blown wouldnt the cyclinder walls be all scratched up? theyre not at all they look fine. some people also suggested the head gasket was blown but nothing seems to look wrong with it. we did some compression test and the middle two cyclinders are making like 120lbs of compression while the outer 2 are making like 180. how can i tell of the head gasket is blown? even though the cyclinder walls arent scratched could it still b the rings? thanks alot in advance for and help.

If #2 and #3 cylinders are 120 and #1 and #4 are 180 then you my friend have failed the compression test. So Yes, I would say that the rings are bad.

 

haha yea i kno i failed the compression test. u think its definatly the rings though? cuz i wana be sure before i take apart the bottom of the motor too

 

With that much difference then the rings would most likely be bad and I would say Yes on replacing the rings.
