Default Broken Exhaust

Well here is my problem. Now what should I do to get that fixed? Is it easy? Will any muffler shop do it? And is it expensive?

TIA Sam

Holy crap. How'd that happen? It looks like it just needs to be rewelded, which wouldn't cost too much at all at a muffler shop. I know they could fix it.

You wouldn't consider just buying a catback exhaust at this point?

I did consider buying a catback exhaust, but im 16 and am on a tite budget as I just recently got a speeding ticket, so that is out of the question.

As for how I broke it, I believe it happened about half a month ago when I hit a snow boulder, when the city was cleaning the roads, and now it must have rusted the resonator, cause it would always leak water from there, and now I guess when I drove thru 2 big puddles, it must have moved it, causing it to slightly move, and then a small bump must have nocked it off, as it came off from a rolling start and i had to drive the car home with it draggin glike that for 20 minutes.

my exhaust broke similarly just right before the resonator, about a month ago, i had a friend weld it back together, but even that just lasted a week before it broke free again. and now im just waiting on my new cat back exhaust system.

if your exhaust did that the entire thing is prolly rusted. Save up for a cat back system. Or I always see stock ITR cat backs for sale. You could get one of those pretty cheap.

you could try finding another stock exhaust in the classifieds. there has to be someone that got a catback and still has there stock one. I still have my stock gsr exhaust, but its for a 4dr.

To reweld that, probably 10-20 bucks at a muffler shop, or you could do a crush bent catback set up for about 110 bucks

thanks all of you for the information, when i hit the boulder 1 month ago, i was saying if i got home and there was a damage, that weekend i would get a catback, but i got a speeding ticket and things changed, so just the main priority is to have something to fix it for now until the end of march. then i hopefully should get something.

Same thing happen to me a couple months ago it sounded like a helicopter when i was coming out of first gear and when vtec crossovered....i almost went deaf
btw... I'm 16, too..... lol

Well, I had to get a quick fix and had my mom ran it to a shop when she was off work one day and came back tellin me it was $149 for the fix........

what she did was replace the whole piping from where it broke (before resonator)back to the muffler

and now im stuck with this ugly 1 inch pipe ...should be gettin my 5zigen in sometime this week tho

and....take it to a shop, im sure it wont cost that much to get it rewelded

thx, aftermarket like i say i can not get right now because of funds, and i need a way to get to school and work tomorrow.

standstill that sucks, if they cant reweld mine im just gunna get a new resonator.

I dont want a custom catback, i want to do it right the first time, so ill decide what is best for me, later on.
