Default tranny slipping out of gear in 4th...shift linage the culprit?

do you think the hcp linkage could be the culprit? it pops out of gear a lot only in 4th though. i have teh first "unrevised" linkage that hcp made, should i bother spending the dough on a hasport...or might it be just the tranny itself
