Since there has been a pretty constant array of pictures and great posts in this section I thought it would be informative if I posted pics of the new exhaust system I intalled this morning. It's a T1R Bpipe to Spoon n1 set up... (ips racing carries both and mike is a good seller). The only problem I really had was the bpipe -> axle back flanges. The t1r came with a gasket for the cat -> bpipe but no bpipe -> axle back. This was a problem because after install there was a huge leak and whined at WOT. I then drove to the nearest auto part store and bought a sheet of this thermal weird exhaust gasket material that comes in a paper sized sheet. It runs about $9.95 per sheet and you are to cut your own gasket out according to your own specs (since us ep3 guys don't have a stock gasket back there it's useless to try to consult honda technicians). Anyway after fitting it on the bpipe and re installing the exhaust the desired results were met, and the exhaust sounds really nice, i'm pretty impressed. Fitmet is good, doens't hang too low, and have nothing but good things to say about it so far. Anyway on to the pictures.
Spoon n1 (note the black **** that won't come off)

The t1r blingin, already mounted

The money shot. Bpipe meets Axle back. New best friends
Also if you can see the beige excess on the sides thats the DIY gasket
Pretty shitty cutting job but it works.

Bpipe meet cat. Buddies as well

Spoon n1 exhaust/sway bar clearance. Not too shabby. Rear progress bar is on its way! New pics once installed

That's about it. I also have a video but I don't have any webspace or bandwith for storage. If somebody could so generously host the 3mb video file of the sound that would be great, PM me if there are any donors. Hope you all enjoyed. Any questions I'll be happy to answer. What do you think? (don't bother saying its too expensive, I really don't care
)
Peace,
Johnkimble

for sure... it definately feels better! throttle responpse is alot better. a lot of people say they feel like they lose power in low rpm with a lot of exhausts but from about 1k through 5k at WOT the power line FEELS very smooth, though i can't confirm that with any numbers. but really it doesn't feel like any power was lost at low rpm but it feels really really strong after about 4k -- i definately have no regrets

That sounds great, I have the same set-up on my DC5-S, I will always be a fan for the T1R, N-1 Spoon set up...
Your EP3 must have been warmed up, When I start mine in the morning it resonates really well....Sounds like I got BASS Y0!

Yeah dude, i'm still not used to the exhaust set up yet and it keeps changing sounds. Besides smelling like korean bbq i like it! Haven't experienced any rattles or any noises besides the exhaust noise itself. Did you guys with your DC5's have any leaking with t1r -> spoon n1 ??? mine was gapped pretty bad without a gasket

maybe its the vid, but for the most part the piece is VERY deep. when driving its not crackly after high rpm, maintains smooth deep tone and sounds differently than anything i've ever heard. as posted above it resonates differently when the car is cold. its pretty interesting.

hahaha well it's kind of useless to estimate horsepower with no dyno but mid rpm is much stronger, the power curve is much smoother as well, smooth power through 2200 rpm to 6k. the throttle seems a little stiffer, especially going from a calm 30mph to just just mashing the gas down. its definately cool. launches sound pretty clean
