Default DRAG III TURBO KIT OWNERS

i've heard of the turbo manifold cracking, after a while. Doesn't seem to be able to handle the load...have any of you guys had this happen to you? any suggestions on a different manifold capable of not cracking...i think its made of cast iron but not 100% sure....

well, i'm awaiting my drag kit which should arrive tomorrow afternoon. Anyways, I think the manifold cracks because 1) It's kinda thin, and 2) when you connect it to your exhaust system, the manifold receives plenty of stress. I think to solve the problem, you need to use some flexpipe to join the downpipe to your exhaust so that the stress can be relieved. I heard this a while back so it might not be entirely accurate.

I've heard that it can also be from all the heat wearing out the welds or something. I was planning on having my manifold, turbo, and dp all thermal coated before it goes on.

They will crack if you modify them in anyway, spray water on it when it's burning hot, from dragging it alot, or if you wrap them up with something that keeps the heat in (which also keeps moisture in = bad).

Mine cracked on it`s 3rd year. I picked up a Rev hard for 300. I wouldn`t lose any sleep over it. Worry about the wastegate.

plus when you buy drag kit it has liftime warnatee on the manifold so if it does fok up you get it replaced.. dont quote me on this but thats the last i've heard i think!

i'm gonna start of with a small kit for the first year then when i have the cash to rebuild move on to a customs set up or something like drag/rev hard just slightly modified.

buy the manifold from importparts next time, they do covered the manifold under warranty.

do a search for "drag manifold" on forced induction, you'll see ben@importparts thread on the warranty on the manifold.
