Cam gears or Pulley's
They are two different animals. Pulleys are easy to install and bolt on, but give next to no power. Cam gears can give very nice gains, but you have to tune them on a dyno. Pulleys might get you 2 HP while gears can add 5-10 HP from your stock cams if you tune the car right. It's up to you. I think pulleys are a waste of money, and I own a set.
How long does it take to install cam gears? How much are they, and could I do it myself? What would the final cost for cam gears be? As far as Pulley's, How long do they take to install, just out of curiosity.... Thanks!
If you're comfortable doing something like a timing belt, you could do a set of gears. However, you'd need time on a Dyno with someone who knew what to do with one of those animals...
i have aem power pulleys they are not worth it..i think i got only 1-2 hp...i would go for the cam gears for sure and a vafc to tune everything right...you will get a good amount of horsepower from the cam gears....

You don't need a V-AFC to tune a set of cam gears. Having one will give you more power of course, but you don't have to have ont to get power out of cam gears.
Apex-i makes one. It will adjust your VTEC crossover as well as your air fuel ratio. This helps your engine to run at it's maximum potential with the given parts you have.
Cutting the valve cover will allow you to access the cam gears much easier for tuning but you don't need to do that. By not doing that you just have to take the valve cover off everytime you need to tune the cam gears.
