Default 1991 Accord

I am new to this forum as well as Hondas. I bought my daughter a very clean 1991 Accord EX 4 cylinder. She is very happy with it since it is her first car. She has had it for a few months now and it has started giving her some problems, which I had anticipated from an old car. It idles fine at about 900 rpm after a cold start, but once it gets warmed up, it starts missing as if it wants to die, and the rpms fluctuate up and down from 900 to about 500. Is there any one out there that is willing to give me a little bit of help in this?
Thanks

First off let me welcome you to H-T, this site is very informative and 2nd let me congratulate the purchase of a 4th gen accord. With the idle it could be a couple of things....I would check out your IACV (Idle air control valve), but that wouldn't do anything with it wanting to die. The main relay is generally a big problem with the 4th gens (they just tend to go out) and when they do it is a big problem since it effects how the car idles/drives and not wanting to start. Usually when the main relay is going out or is out the car will sometimes start and sometimes won't. I would also look into your obvious things like spark plugs, wires, air/fuel filter etc. Hope this helps.

Where are these components that you speak of (valve and main relay) located and how do you test them?

The main relay is to the right of the driver side air vent (have to go from underneath), and I would presume a volt meter (since its a fuse type relay; to the best of my knowledge). I have a picture of where its located at home, I am at work right now . The IACV usually a cleaning with carb cleaner works well and can help diagnose a problem. If you are looking at your engine bay standing in front of your car, its right in front of the IM (intake manifold) and just behind the fuel rail on the very far driver side (right). Its kinda flat and once you unscrew the 2-3 screws on top it exposes a screen type filter looks like a honeycomb (??) remove that and spray it with carb cleaner. Hope this helps.

Edit: If i am wrong on any of this anyone please correct me Most of this stuff I have either read on here or other sites FYI, and I have done my IACV cleaning.

When it shakes your motor mounts (more than likely the rear MM) needs to be replace.

Approximately how much would it cost a DIY to replace it VS a garage?

I looked for a DIY, to be honest I wouldn't know how to do them, I would if you don't already purchase a chiltons manual or helms manual very good car manuals ~20 dollars. I got all my motor mounts replaced at honda for about 200 bucks, I would assume less than 100 if you did it yourself. Hope this helps out.

First thing I would check is the coolant level.
