I have the bel 980 and it works amazin it has helped me numerous times

however on that note--you should not depend on a radar, your eyes and awareness are obviously the best things you can use to prevent getting pulled over

well worth i believe...and as previously stated, use ur eyes and be aware...

if i had the money to spend, i would get a v-one or escort 8500, but since i dont i'll just stick with the one i bought back in '96...its working just fine so far though...

 

Yes radar detectors do work, i have one myself, but i can't recall the name, never got a ticket while it is working, but got one once, when the fuse blew. damn it!Valentine one is the Shiznit! hahaha

 

They have radar detector detectors.... these are not able to be detected by the cops?

 

well, here's a funny story...

my friend's dad used to be in the air force, and his dad's friend had like this crazy radar jammer from an old plane that got gutted out and stuff. so, his dad thought it would be cool to try putting it in the car...yea, talk about crazy **** happening. he turned it on, and this loud humming noise started goin, and it like totaled his radio...he can't pick up any frequencies now. his whole stereo started smokin and ****, just from the radar jammer and whatever it puts off. needless to say, he took it out immediately and decided that the idea was a little too crazy. imagine what that would be like, though to drive by the police station...haha

 

I have a V1 and I love it.

 

I got mine for $250 for my b-day... It doesn't do ****! But it beeps near supermarkets (motion detector doors)

Don't get one... The good ones are a lot of money... Just use it for something else...

 

escort 8500 usually gets the top rating along with the valentine one. just remeber your radar is going off along with the cops radar gun. you cant completely depend on those things, but its a great piece of mind
