Default b16 wont start, need opinion

Well my rex has a b16 that ran fine until I had I a terrible short in the electric system. This problem shorted out my starter and that was a pain to figure out. So I just put the new starter in today and turned the key, it started right up. Then it ideled for 2 seconds and then died. I have been unable to start it since
So here is my thought. Since the car sat so long that fuel leaked into the intake and thus had enough fuel to start. When I yank out the plug and stick my nose to the head and someone starts the car I realy dont smell that much gas and I dont see a mist being blown out the hole when someone turns the key.
My question is could I have fried my ecu when I had the large short? I realy dont think that the injectors are working, but how can I tell without taking the time to pull injecotrs?
Please forgive me if my thoughts are not in an orderly fashion. I was just hoping to get this car going today. I only get to come home from school once a month at best.

id make sure your main relay didnt get fried, be sure you hear it click when you turn it to ignition, then click off after the cel turns off.
