Zdyne Managment Option
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Zdyne ECU setups. I am currently in the process of putting a SiR1 b16a into my 90 DX HB. The current plan is to buiold a bolton autox/roadcourse car, but within the next year it will either get a big na upgrade (ie. itb's) or a boost setup.
With the Zdyne setup, what kind of wire harness changes have to be made at the time of the swap? Any other recomindations?

i have no experiance with it but i will sometime in the future..but ill let the people with experiance give you more details on that
but as for the wiring harness (besides the MPFI and VTEC wiring youll have to do a the time of the b16 swap) the ECU requires no upgrade

Im looking to get one too. The Zdyne just takes your existing ecu and reprograms it to run what you got and then you can customize it with a laptop. We should get a group buy going on to get them cheaper
Youll still have to add the vtec wires though

I just think hondata is a better unit then Zdyne, you see more people using Hondata these days and making a decent amount of power from them.
Plus, hondata us cheaper then a zdyne</TD></TR></TABLE>
from my understanding zdyne has all of the same features as hondata with the exception of data logging, and zdyne is easier to tune with because you can make changes while the car is running.
with hondata you have to make your configurations then burn the chip.
IMO hondata cant make anymore power than the zdyne SECU, its the tuner that makes the difference
i see alot more APC products around town than MUGEN but does that make it better? NO! i wish i had 4 arms, so i could give you 4 thumbs down!

Im gonna have to agree the hondata is a far far superior setup than the zdyne, and I have had a zdyne for years. The product was good 5 years ago but has made 0, and I mean ******* 0 advancements since it came out. In fact you can get ahold of blundar on the pgfi board or on here and get basically free setups as good as zdyne and use the $950 for something else. If you want to buy a setup I'd go p28 obd-1 swap with the s200 which you can tune while the car is running with datalogging, but yes you have to burn the finished tune and put it in the ecu. Or do the obd-1 swap and go with the aem ems system. These to plug and play systems will kill a zdyne in every single way. If you can get a zdyne for 250 bucks do it if not go with the better systems that have upgrades and advancments. Zdyne is the apc of ecu's if you ask me, but with the mugen price tag.
Zdyne was started with 2 guys, one a softeware guy and one a hardware guy...the hardware guy is still there the softeware guy is long gone so do not expect much except a webpage of peoples tunes they have made themselves. The stock base zdyne maps are not very good either FYI.

This is a very very true statement but think about 2 things:
1: how many tuners out there know more about the zdyne than the hondata?? Not many...must be that there are so many more hondata's out there
2:if your planning on tuning it your self wouldn't the datalogging and the new hondata g force option (sorta like an onboard dyno/g-tech) be a hell of alot better than the zdyne that has....umm none?? Plus you can setup the hondata to use the wideband o2 also
