F22b1 blow by/beat engine
I have a 95 Accord Ex with about 175,000miles on it. I took the oil filler cap off yesterday and found I have a **** load of blow by. The air is blowing out of the oil filler cap with about 1/3 the power of the exhaust give or take. I haven't tested the compression because I misplaced my tester. I feel a good bit of lost power on the lowend but not so much above 4,200rpm. So it looks like the engine is going to have to be swapped.
Has anyone else had this problem with their honda's? Whats the normal failure? Bad rings?, damaged cylinder bore?, hole in a piston? I've always changed the oil on time. I just haven't been so nice to the engine, take it up to redline on most shift and so on.
Does any have any cheap swap ideas? Newer f23 maybe?

Your '95 Accord is OBDI - so if a swap is in your future, I would stick with an OBDI as it takes better to mods (if that's the route your going). But if you just want to get the car running as a daily driver - you could easily convert to OBDII, just keep in mind there are additional sensors and such as well as you will need an OBDII ECU. You could find another F22b1 Accord motor, or swap in an H22A1/A4 (prelude) motor.
YOu could also just rebuild the engine you have. Do a compression test and leakdown test as these will tell you what you're dealing with and if it is worth rebuilding.
Good luck!

F23a1's are cheap, I believe they are a direct bolt in other then the obdII issue. Switching to the obdII would be the best bet, but i believe i can keep my obdI for the sort term by using the distributor and intake off my f22b1.
I want to do the swap soon, cheap and without much downtime. Can anyone confirm that the f23a1 bolts right into a 95 accord. Any help would be appreciated.
