Its a 97 gsr transmission. Whenever i'm in 5th gear going at a steady speed, every now and then the shifter will pop out of gear. It doesnt seem to pop out when I accelerate or slow down. Anyone tell me what it could be??

First thing to do is check the fluid level.

 

Bent linkage or bad bearings?

 

Sounds like a bad synchro to me.
