what are good tires?
I am using falken azenis and tho i like them, i nearly have a heartattack driving with them in the rain cause of little traction. I am looking for a tire that is good in rain and is good for drag and or autocross/road racing. Any recommendations?

First off, very few tires good for drag racing will be good in the rain. I suggest you search. There is lot of information on this subject. Or contact places like the tirerack to get their input.

I had a set of these on my crx... great in wet weather...never hydroplaned.. and fairly decent in dry weather as well. Not much stopping power on a crx in heavy rain though...so the car did eventually meet it's demise.. can't really go too wrong for the low price tag on these though.

I have done lots of research on the Kuhmo Ecsta 712, and from what I have found they seem to be a good multi purpose tire, especially when considering bang for the buck. I should be getting mine next week, I will let you know what I think.
YOKOHAMA'S avs es100 ARE THE BANG FO THE BUCKS THESE DAYZ....i just slap some on my rims....they perform better then kumho 712....and it's cheaper....i recommend...strongly
The Kumho MX is close to the Azenis as far as dry grip, and much better in the rain from what I hear. I haven't used them though.
Last season, I used the 712's in the rain and they worked quite well.

these are some of the best tires i have ever used, get the tires hot and its hard to spin them when u launch
i street race with them all the time and the hold traction very good in turns at high speeds, iv never had a problem in the rain with them either

215 is the width
45 is the tire thickness (not sure what 'zr' means)
16 rim diameter

The z is speed rating, dont quote me on this, but I think z is 149 mph. For some reason I have found W rating, 149+, cheaper all over the place in the Kuhmos.
