i just discovered an oil leak :(
ive had the R in storage for about two months now, and in the past couple days, i noticed it has started to leak oil.... anyway, i traced it back up to the filter, but the filter is on tight. is it possible that it is on too tight? jw what the problem might be. thanks.
Check the cam gear seal. I along with others such as Trey have also had this problem. It was horrendously annoying.
Just pop open the valve cover and take off the gears. It might be that one of the seals slid out.
My leak was coming from the oil pan, a/c area. Only on that side. It then spread everywhere.
Looked like a headgasket leak.

I feel you man. I had a 97 Prelude and changed my own oil religiously. Anyway, when I went to sell it, a potential buyer paid almost $100 dollars to get it "pre inspected" and one of the shortcomings was an oil leak at the filter. They said the filter wasn't tightened enough. Good figure. Maybe some have to be torqued down with the wrench. Who knows?
_matt < hopes it works out for ya...

Ill offer my stupid advice..
When you change the filter do you put a bit of oil on the filter seal? This is supposedly needed so the filter seals to the threaded part properly.
