I would suggest having more information to take with you, any good sales person will probably ask this as well, but you never know.
Do you want the wheels to be flush with the car, inside the wheel wells a little, or maybe you want them to stick out some. Know what offset you want. The higher the offset the farther the wheels will be from the base of the hub, the lower (and/or negative) the closer to the hub. I believe a range between 35-43mm will net a near flush look.
Is the car lowered? Know how wide you can afford to go without rubbing or having to make adjustments to the body of your vehicle. This information is also dependent with on the offset as well.
What is the purpose of the wheel? Track events, auto-crossing, daily driving, ecetera. The size of the wheel is going to affect the selection of tires available for purchase, some tires are just not available in the smaller sizes.
Just in case, most Honda Civic lug patterns are 4x100
