Default Does the EF Forum's FS/WTB thread REALLY work?

The thread I am referring to is this one:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=362113

I have been wondering for a while if this thread is really benificial to the members. The thread is usually a mess and hardly anyone follows the rules I proposed (mainly making a Classified Forum thread and providing a link to it).

So, voice your concerns here. I made this a poll to make feedback quick and simple.

Edit: I just want people to know if the FS/WTB thread gets deleted, there will still be no FS/WTB threads allowed in the forum. All threads will be moved to the Classified Forum.

Note: I will keep this thread open for one week. The final concensus will be posted and this thread will be unstickied and locked.

Thanks all!

hell no. no one really looks at it, they just go and post what they need to sell, and then thats it. it should be locked because it just takes up space.

Make sure you vote b/c that will ultimately help the Moderators of this Forum out. I'll try to read through all the posts, but you know how that can go...

Default My 2 cents

Im totally new to the Honda world,

I posted for sale in the classifieds only to get no responses for what I was trying to sell. I post wanted and FS stuff in the EF section and I get many responses.

Keep it. Maybe section it off into categories?

Since this forum isn't a Classified forum, the thread will not be categorized. Basically it stays as it is (with maybe some clean-up) or goes.

The thread is only supposed to be advertisement to a member's Classified thread, but it has become more than that. Many users do not make a thread in the Classified forum like they should.

Trash can. If you need to sell stuff I find the Classified sectoin on the main site help and never bothered to look at the top post once. If you have to many stickes up top, then ppl just never look at them. I think the pic thing is okay, and the rules and thats all we need.

the classifieds section moves too fast and is too crowded to try to look for EF parts, I like the FS/WTB Thread
Keep it!

I say keep it. I'm really looking for anything to buy, but it's the first thread I look at just in case. I look at it all the time cause you never know what maybe for sale.

I do agree that people need to follow the rules though. The rules are very simple. Maybe you can just delete posts for people that didn't follow rules? If they really want to sell their stuff, they'll post it correctly.

keep it its nice to browse through ef stuff, in the classified section there is way to many eg,ek accord and other bs that is worthless to a ef owner, clean it up a bit and make people stick to the rules and It would be alot more beneficial.

I always check the FS/WTB thread for parts that I need. It's harder to find good EF parts in the classified section than it is in the FS/WTB.

i constantly watch it, many people find items to buy from me off it, it does work... does need to be moderated better... i'd do it... think we should be more strict w/ bum posts. and messaging back and forth in the thread.

The mods can definitely do that. We now have the option to delete multiple threads in one screen which will make moderating the thread much easier.

We try our best of cleaning things up, but sometimes things just get out of hand. There are more members than mods, so things can run amuck quickly.

It seems that people want to keep the thread, but the poll results are saying to trash it (right now). Make sure you vote people in addition to posting!!!

Like already mentioned above, the classifieds section moves too quickly...if your looking for a part on a specific make, it's much easier to search 4 or 5 pages in the EF forum and find the link then it would be to search 20 or more pages in the classifieds section to find the 10 or soo posts specific to EFs.

People don't always need the part as soon as it's posted, but when they do need it, it's much easier to find in the EF forum.

It's helped me sell stuff and buy stuff...I think it's helpful, but it does need to be moderated better. If they can't follow the guidelines (which aren't that hard to follow), then it doesn't belong in the thread....short description of needs with a link to the post in the classifieds section....don't allow any pictures in the thread either.

Good idea.

If the members decide to keep it (remember YOUR vote counts) we will add a few more rules to the thread in hopes of keeping it clean and keeping it to what is was originally supposed to be... just an advertisment thread to Classified Forum Threads.

I vote to keep it, but moderate it better. I know I have used it in the past and most likely will again in the near future.

I know it's tough keeping it clean, but the mods for this forum should have no problem if they all pitch in.

I think it makes the forum a better place and helps us 4th gen guys.

i say leave it, just moderate it better... although most people havetheir fs/wtb links in their sigs, you can just go into one thread and there it is.

edit... now i can post in there
