Hay kiddies. Its been awhile and alot has happend. I got my B20B in my EJ . Happy camper here . But now im throwing a code 17 (VSS) and when its pretty cold out or my motor is cold my oil light blinks . But ive noticed it lately cuz its been really cold here that sometimes at a light at idle itll come on strong but when i bring it up to about 2k it goes away. I have heard 2 possible reasons: 1. Its Effing cold out!!!! and 2. oil sensor is gay. and then there is the number 3 that im afraid of that i dont have enough oil being sent (even though i put 4 quarts in of 5 w30 myself with a K&N oil filter). But ya ive blown 1 motor already i dont wanna blow my B20 torque monster. tell me what u guys think

 

i ahve a similar problem with the oil light on my b16a sir1. when its cold out the oil light comes on for about 3 secs, then goes away... my oil level is fine (check it every time i gas up)

 

just to be on the safe side i would check your oil preassure with a quality guage.

 

The oil light does not check your oil level. It checks oil pressure. You can always hook up a mechanical guage to double check your oil pressure.

Low oil pressure is usually caused by a bad pump(no pressure at all) or low pressure can be attributed to mains. Sometimes really worn cam bearings will cause it, usually mains though.
