Default I fried my engine, what should i get now? $ on the way.

My good ol' ZC has about 80,000 on it in my 89 Si Hatch. I raced a new F150 and sprayed 55 into it and took it up to 8,000 and smoked his ***. When I let off, the RPMs went UP which could mean the nitrous solenoid got stuck on. After it was idling like crap. I thought it was a programming error so I kept beating on it as usual and now cyl 2 and 3 are dead. I probably shouldn't have chipped my pr4 ECU to take 8,000rpms, but oh well.

I was thinking about getting another ZC just do drop in and be ready to go and haev a spare engine for parts, but I'm also considering some other engines. Anybody want to talk me into something else?

8000 rpm with a 55 shot on a stock ZC? Damn, after treating your motor like that I hope you learned your lesson. Get somehting reliable like a b16.

just get another zc and BTW you shouldn't need to "spray" against a 4x4 pick-up

8,000 would fry the engine without even spraying. Why were you that high, peack power is at lower rpms, all you were doing at that RPM was abusing the motor. And like the other guys said, you should have been wooping up on a 4X4 without spraying. I could beat up on most cars with my ZC and kick any trucks *** I came across.

ZC has a 7,200 RPM redline for a reason.

nah, those f 150's are pretty quick. one tim ei left my lights on at work and my boss let me use her brand new 2003 f 150 with only 9k miles on it. damn those things get up and go until they hit 90 mph or so which is when the governor starts working. it felt close to as fast as my crx si, maybe even faster

it was a short bed, non extended cab, 5.4 triton with a 5 speed. i think he did the trans swap himself because they dont come in a 5 speed. he had a gear too, because he hit 2nd at like 35 at high rpm. i hit 2nd and i was in low rpm, then it was even for a while... then i hit the button and waved goodbye.

by the way, i usually shift at 7500, the max power is at 6800. i put the rev limiter at 8 so i didnt hit the fuel cutout with nitrous. but it only takes one time to float the valves. its ok though, the motor was tired and beat when i bought the car.

I would have kept the rev limiter lower than 8,000 its way too easy to get there. Get another ZC, they are fun to drive and fairly cheap. I am going B16 route however and I hope I don't regret it. Been a major PITA getting it together so far, when the ZC swap into a DX was a breeze.

Im going to have to say the good ol' b20 or LS if you want to stay with nitrous. Not hard to install and less headache
