Default one axle a little short perhaps?

integra xsi b16a in crx hf

i was putting my axles back in the motor the other day and i noticed if looking at it like you are in the drivers seat the right axle seems go be comming htrough the hub about 1 inch. looks good and looks like axle nut will fit on there fine with no problem. but the other side i get the spindle back on and it looks like theres under half and inch for the axle nut to screw back on. is this normal for such a small amount of space on this side? i matched the axles by actually looking in where the axle is inserted. the female end was grooved all the way through so i took the axle that had grooves extending fully on the male end of the axle and put it on that side. for the other side which was only half grooved, i put the axle which only was half grooved. sorry for such the crappy terminology. but is this right or is something wrong? thanks.

im sorry i was up real late last night and didn't have a good head. maybe i can re-explain it a little more clearly.

alright, so im fixing up my suspension, putting the new si spindles on my 88 crx hf. i match the axles by looking at the end of the engine side of the shaft. one axle, where the axles actually slides into the engine, is splined fully and the other axle is only splined half way. i match the axle that has the full spline with the right side of the engine. (when im saying splined, i mean grooves that grab to actually make the axle spin as the engine spins.) this side has a hole that would accept the full splined axle. for the other axle that is only grooved half way i put it on the left side. when i look into this side i see that where the axle is inserted is only half grooved so i put the axle which is only half grooved in. the right side seems fine. i have about an inch (probably a little less, but just using an inch for reference) coming out of the rotor and looks like the axle nut will securely and safely attach. as for the other side, it looks like there is under half an inch coming through the rotor. i could screw the axle nut on there but it just doesn't seem normal.

is this normal. i looked where it inserts into the intermediate shaft and it looked like it was pretty well in there. anyone got any suggestions. and sorry i don't know all the technical terms for all this. kinda makes it 2 times as hard for someone to answer it.

well i understood this. your drivers side axel sticks out of the hub one inch and ur ppassenger side only sticks out half an inch. if thats the problem and you dont have your axel nuts tightened down dont worry. just torque down the axel nuts and itll be fine. are both axels going into the engine?
