Default AEM Intakes

Hey, I'm planning to getting an AEM intake but I dont know which to get. Theres the short ram the cold air intake and the new v2 that is supposed to give you extra horse power, something to do with the vibrations or something. Whats the difference between all of these, which gives more hp and with the v2 it seems very complicated like everything has to be just right for good preformance, but I'm not sure I dont know haha

I would stick to the short arm.
Unless you can keep water out of the CAI.

Unless you just go around driving through puddle you shouldn't get water in your intake. i went 2 years with a CAI without my splash guard 90% of the time and never hydrolocked my 2.2

Went with Injen short ram. The better throttle response is more worth the extra acheivable horsepower from an intake. Cold air will not make too much of a difference, unless you live somewhere specifically hot. I like the short ram, efficient power improvement, and efficiant throttle response; couldn't have asked for more.

if moneys no object and your not afraid of hydrolocking, get the cold air. As for me i got short ram basically because its cheaper and gains are minimal either way.

imo a intake is just a tube with a open + better filter... stick with a generic tube and get a good filter and itll be just the same and save urself alottttt of damn $ them aem's go for 100 or more,, one of the H-t members got a PT header for 150.. same price as a aem intake almost...

Depends on how much each of them cost.

If the Short ram is a lot cheaper just buy that and save the $.

the v2 is alot of hype, and takes up space, i have a cold air and have no problems also it is a nice feel in power, but if your scared of water in the motor, than be safe with the short ram.

I just installed my Aem CAI, works wonders! Impressive power gain. Don't try to play "boat" with your car in the winter and you'll be fine
