Will putting a new clutch stop grinding?
This has probably already been answered but I'll ask again anyways. My 3rd gear on my gsr just started to grind. So i was wondering if putting a new clutch will stop the grinding because i want to stop it before its too late. Or is it already too late? What can i do to stop the grinding?
it could, if the synchro is not too bad... like someone said earlier, it will grind if the clutch is not all the way to the ground, so if u get a new clutch, it may help this... i didnt fully explain, but im tired.
the ONLY thing you can do besides getting into the tranny is GM advanced syncromesh fluid.
doing anything besides rebuilding the tranny or buying a new one will temporarily solve the symptoms.

if it were grinding do to somethin other than obviously a synchro, like say, the clutch werent grabbing good or somethin, then a clutch, but here, turbotommy owns

gm's syncromesh will help the grind, but sucks man time to rebuild with a lsd since ur opening it =D or sell and get new tranny, im grinding as well, it happens to us all, i should say it happens to the best of us =D which would be all of us, but the thiefes would even be on that list, i wish they grind all 5 gears and reverse lil bastards! but it does happen to most honda owners =/
Its a B series issue. GM Synchromesh cleared up most of my problem. But if I dump down a gear on the highway above 75mph, I guarantee when i throw it back up into 5th it will grind.
*sigh*

it only grinds when i redline 2nd and go for 3rd. Other than that, it shifts smooth. and because it only started about 2 days ago, i haven't been racing it anymore so hopefully it'll help.
And also, this stuff is just tranny fluid right? so i can just add it to my tranny fluid?

then i would recomend a simple fluid change and if you have a short shifter, boot it..also try to keep the cp from hittin the floor on hard shifts
so basically having a short shifter and pressing the cp to the floor will promote grinding? Will using Redline tranny fluid help or should i just get the GM one?
search on GM syncromesh fluid...its the best at what its made to do, stop grinds and smooth easy shifting.
short shifters shorten not only your throw but the life of the gear syncro's.
cp's hitting the floor often lead to grinds..
