my friends teg is buckin while exceleration like its bogging real hard. i dont think its a tranny prob cause he can shift fine, when he excells slowly it doesnt happen but when he goes to floor it it bucks alot more. it also doesnt do it in first, more in second. im thinkin he must be loosin his fuel pump or its something fuel related? what do yall think

does this only while it is cold?? most likely spark plug wires... only would happen when it was cold to me.... an after it was warmed it would go away

Whats the mileage on his car? I would check the fuel filter and each cylinder to see if they are all firing

I've had this issue with a couple of my tegs. One time it was the clutch starting to slip, the car shifts fine cause it's not the tranny, but when a clutch starts to go it will catch sometimes and sometimes it will slip. Usually in first, but can happen in second as well if you short shifted. If it's not the clutch slipping, then it might be something with the dizzy or spark plugs. I doubt it's the fuel pump cause then your car would stall out from time to time. Hope this helps.

Grneye, where have you been.......didn't you know exceleration is when acceleration is exhilarating which for our fellow HT member sharkey's friend, it is not right now. While I'm sure we can all appreciate someone correcting our spelling mistakes, ( yeah okay), I'm sure sharkey would have appreciated it more if you contributed to the solution of his problem.
(Hope I didn't have any sp errors..........but then again if I did, I'm sure you'll correct them )............"I kid I kid"

yea, that was my fault, I wasn't paying attention and good 'ol 56K made me think I was the first to post. After I posted I noticed the other posts and felt kinda dumb (yes i'll admit it). Just meant for the spelling correction, but i thought it was first... lol my bad

To me sounds like the car is loosing compression. when mine did that i had to change all my gaskets and seals. Does it do that at high RPM?

Thanks for the props ; turbotommy makes a good suggestion....iac valve or vacuum lines........but then the car would have an erratic idle if this were the cause.....tach would do the bouncing thing........out of all these suggestions it's got to be one of them Let us know which one it was when you finally fix it......good luck.
