Default VX vs HX rims.... need info.. going on 95 ex w 4wheel disc

Whats the difference between vx and hx rims? Whats the weight difference? Ive tried searching but hx and vx are to short and i dont feel like going through 100 pages.

Anyone got pics of vx's?

Ive read some good posts on fitting over disc brakes and needing spacer, i just cant find them anymore.

Im pretty sure im getting vx's and they are going on a 95 civic ex with 4 wheel discs. I have 2 5mm spacers, do i need 2 more...

And how hard are center caps to find>?

thanks

I have some VX wheels. They are 13" x 5" wide and 9lbs. The caps are the same as hx caps. I know they will not fit over the ex calipers so I can't help you there. Heres a pic:

Why do you want VX's in the first place? They look small as **** on 4 doors...how do I know? I HAVE THEM. They fit over my LX brakes, but I know they wont fit over the EX ABS brakes without spacers or grinding the caliper down.

VX wheels will not fit. Period. You will need HX wheels.

I thought the inside of VX wheels and HX wheels were the same? That they both cleared the small Civic brakes and could both clear the larger ones with spacers/grinding the calipers down?

I think you can only do with the HXs...I'll get a set of VXs to compare them to this weekend and let you know for sure.

The 92-93 si hatchbacks have the small front brakes, the same as the 92-00 CX/DX/LX brakes. The VX wheels WILL fit over those. It is the larger front brakes that come on 94-95 Si's and 92-00 EX's that the VX wheels will not clear (according to Targa).

Yes. '92-93 Si non-ABS hatchbacks have the smaller 9.5" front brakes. All '94-95 Si, and all '92-95 EX have the larger 10.3" front brakes, which the VX wheels will not clear.

HX wheels fit over 10.3" front brakes, but require either slight modification of the caliper brackets, or a spacer.

Maybe with a gigantimous spacer, but I wouldn't recommend it. I could check the clearances tomorrow for sure - I have 1 VX wheel laying around here somewhere.

Just buy bigger wheels and concede the extra weight; VX wheels are just too damn narrow. I'd rather have a 15lb 15x7 than a 9lb 13x5.

My 235/45-13 21.3"-OD tires on 13x8s are better than your 175/50-13 19.9"-OD tires on 13x5s.

No.

205/50-15 Kumho 711s were $43 apiece though, so they balance out my tire budget.
