Default Installing Racing Seats

I drove up to my boys house to install a pair of r-1 racing seats i wanted to buy off of him. we removed the driver side seat and its brackets. when we swapped both the universal and the stock brackets around we realized that where the brackets were on the seat were further in then on the stock seat. hence they wouldnt line up when we went to bolt back on. is it the seats or are all racing seats like this? if so what mods need to be made. we were thinking about cutting the front ends of the brackets with a grinder to that it would somehow fit around the bolt. but before i we go ghetto rigging everything haha i thought id get some input. so is it the seats or is this the case with all of them? how'd you do yours?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by USDM EF9 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">drill new holes and bolt them down </TD></TR></TABLE>

if you do that I hope you never have a serious accident. whashers and bolts will pull right through the hole you just drilled.

I'm not familiar with these seats. Are they side mount or bottom mount?

yeah dont make a custom mount, i started doing that to put eg's in mine, but im just gonna pull the one i put in out because it doesnt seem that safe even though i have it bolted in 7 places now with the use of steel bar stock. and welded in 2 of the bolts.
