ok, i got a buddy who has a 98 accord 2 door. how the heck do i change the passenger headlight bulb? do i need to remove something, and if i do what tools would i need. thanks a bunch.
on the v6, space is very tight on the driver side.
just to let you know there's no tool required, you can take them out with one hand.
first off, take off the wire plug by pressing on the release tab and pull it out of the way, turn the blub(counterclock wise if I am not mistaken) about 10-15degree and it will became free.
the installation is just the same.
it's best for you to install the new blub without touching the glass of the blub, oil in your fingers can cause them to burn out much faster

He owns a teg...he is asking for his buddy, generally the passenger side is the most cramped, it may be easiest to remove the battery, but no tools needed.

Yes I know he was asking for his friend...believe it or not I can read! I have a 96 and a 2000 accord and its not that cramped on the passenger side, at least not enough to have to remove the battery. Also when you look at the back of the headlight it is pretty much self explanitory, it even says which way to turn to tighten and which way to loosen. I mean come on how hard is that!

1. i only looked into the engine bay at night. couldnt see much.
2. i was seeing if i needed to remove anything, usualy people who own accords would have changed bulbs at one point. i was looking to share in their wisdom, not your ignorance. thanks anyway.
for those who gave anwsers thanks.
i'll take a look today while the suns out. for those who need to flame, we already have a evil drew-get your own act.

Why am I ignorant? We've already had people coming into the accord forum asking about how to put air in a tire, and now how to change a headlight bulb. It sounded too ironic and I thought someone was pulling a prank, Im sorry that you have obviously never had to change a headlight bulb in your integra, but next time how about checking it out in the day time before asking a question pertaining to something which is so easy and common to do.

i've changed plenty of bulbs in my teg, in friends tegs, cr-v's and civics. just never had a accord before. if it seemed like a stupid question then the smart thing to do was to just leave it alone. adding a negative comment helps no one. newb.
Sure it does it helps me! haha But then again I guess I should forgive you, I mean now that you are "trying" to work on a real car!

ok, update. theres a plastic "intake" part behind the bulb. that just pulls right out. xcept the bulb wont come out. its in good. its the original stanley bulb too. need to get it tommorow when i bring some tools.
Dude seriously you don't need tools just make sure that you rotate the bulb enough that it is free and it should come straight out.

I thought it was a 98 you were having problems with now your having problems with a 96 too? Wow there must be a headlight problem where you live.

Yeah it should be the little air "intake" duct. It comes right out. It's pretty cramped in there but if you can get a good grip it'll come right out. I had a bit of trouble changing the bulbs the first time too but after a while you get used to it.

How is a little oil going to cause a bulb burn out?

the spot where the oil is causes more heat to accumulate there. burns out quicker. if the bulb surface is oil free then heat is evenly dispursed.

Sounds like a bunch of crap to me. A little oil is going to burn right off.

ahhh, its worth it. i've have bulbs i've put in without cleaning em and they blow within a few hours. the ones i clean last for years. most good bulb sets come with little alcohol pads. its 3 seconds. why not?

Let me tell you for once and for all.
OIL WILL KILL YOUR BULB MUCH FASTER.
the uneven surface temp. on the glass will cause "hotzone"

What is the relationship between the surface temp of the glass and the filiment burning out?
