Default JDM header heat shield???? I have searched!

I have the DC JDM 4-1 header and have been thinking about selling it and getting the OEM JDM header with the heat shield. The only reason I was thinking of the change was to get the clean look of the heat shield. I am very happy with the DC header as are most of the owners that have replied in countless posts, so why get rid of it!
So on to my question. Has anyone tryed putting the JDM shield on the DC header. I know the dc doesn't have the mounting brackets. That is no problem as I am a welder and can fab up the mounts to accomadate the shield. I just don't want to pay $70 bucks canadian for the shield and not have it fit. Also there is no one around here with an oem header to compare with.
Sorry to go on but if anyone can answer this for me it would be great.

the only way to put it on would require welding i beleive.. and for the lower shield. i recommend some sort of skid plate welded on. just to be safe

If you have access to someone that can weld it, you can make it work.

I can do the welding. I was more concerned with the fitment. Are the two headers the same shape and measurements. I just want to make sure.

if you can fabricate the mounts , why dont you compare it to your stock exhaust manifold . That way since you are doing the welds see if you can fit the current heatshield that you have . That way you dont spend xtra on it .
OR find some one with a JDM 4-1 heatshield and compare where the brackets are and how close you can get on the DC header ..

I think that only the JDM heatshield will fit and unfortunately there isn't anyone around here with one . Thats why I am turning to HT members for help.

As for the skid plate, that would be easy for myself as I have access to all different kinds of materials (allum.,stainless) and can shape it to custom fit the DC header.
