Default OT: Lifetime Alignment $99

Dropped in to Firestone today to ask about an alignment and my luck, they are having a sale, $99 for a lifetime alignment (lifetime of the car).

Not a bad deal :-)

Yep that's where my R gets aligned at. Just make sure to tell them you don't want their "technician" to do any so called "test drives". Don't leave the car there and go somewhere else. Wait there for it. Who cares if they think you are ****, at least they won't be rodding your car.

Nope. If your car is too low to get up the ramp they won't do it. But if you take off your front bumper, then you can be as low as you want. They are just worried that they are going to drive your car up the rack and fugg up your bumper and ****. So if you take it off, they have no worries. That's what I do anyway.

take advantage of that deal. alignments usually cost $30 here, so thats pretty good deal. im sure they have some sort of catch, like you have to wait like a couple months before your next on..

oh, is that for just one car,? or can you do all your cars

every 2000 miles is the time frame. One car at a time man. They would go out of business otherwise. If you buy Potenza .....or well Bridgestone/Firestone tires, even from a different seller, they will mount them for free. I don't know about balancing though.

Take your bumper off? Crazy. If they refuse to do it at any point I will get a full refund. So ha! :-)

The jdm bumper is significantly easier to remove than the usdm bumper. But I'd still do it either way.

Do you think they would do it if you have camber but can't adjust it?

hold on guys.. i just called the firestone here in Raleigh, NC. he said its $119, and you can only do one car that you put on the deal. and its every 6 months, or 10000 miles. hmm, maybe its different around the US.

still not sure if its the best deal.

What about guys with camber kits? These cars don't normaly come with them so do the tech adjust them? How do you guys deal with this? Just set the camber yourself? I've also got the z10 bars which can change toe, do they know how to adjust thouse?

Craig - Who sometimes thinks it would be easier to just buy his own alignment rack.

dont know much about firestone and if they will align cars with kits on them.

your best bet is to find a performance shop that knows what they are doing.

When I had my car aligned with the z10 bars I just asked if I could talk to the tech who was doing the work cause I had a few "special" parts on the car

Turned out to be no prob. Showed him how to preload the z10's, then did the alignment...no biggie.

i hope you guys realize that most of the alignment technicians at Firestone get paid flat rate.

the flate rate pay for Firestone's "lifetime alignement" is 8/10ths.. that is bullshit. it can take 3/10ths to set up the damn Hunter equipment. meaning they are spending a MAX of 30 minutes actually aligning your car.

thats why Firestone alignments are refered to as "toe and go".. because those techs aren't getting paid **** for it, so they will cut corners.. set your FRONT toe, and get you out of there.

Which is why when/where i get mine done, I go and hang out with the tech. All 4 get aligned and I usually call the numbers out to him so it makes his job easier. Just get to know the techs, makes life easier for both of you.

You get what you pay for.

Alignment is an art. It's worth paying for an EXCELLENT alignment by a knowledgeable tech.

Alignments are anywhere from 50 -70 here, so a 99 lifetime alignent is a steal

Kicker- I am about to call a local Firestone to see what the deal is with us here in Chicago
