My worst day (Damaged type r head, funky skunk2 shifter, stolen bumper lenses)
I've had ZERO luck in the last 24 hours. I finally, after 2 months, picked up my skunk2 shifter and **** from Grand Forks, and smuggled it across the border. I am from winnipeg Manitoba btw, so a total of 6 hours driving. I go and twist the shift **** onto the shifter threads. when the **** finally "locks" around the last thread, the **** doesn't sit straight, and the gear numbers are pointed slightly side ways
. I will get some pics of this probably tomorrow.
That was yesterday. Today, I go to pick up a 2000 type r head for my ls/vtec conversion in the summer from UPS. I cleared customs my self which saved me $70 CDN, and sure enough when they bring out the giant box, there's an f'in hole in the side of the box, which initially had me worried. Sure enough, I open the box at home, and one of the cam gears has been bent inwards from a hard impact. This head was shipped pretty nicely too, lots of "peanuts" inside a big box, and also a smaller box containing the head stuffed with more peanuts. Here's two pics of the damaged gear

AND FINALLY, i go to work today ( I work retail at a mall), and upon arriving at my car after my shift, I have no f'in bumper lenses on my car.............
What a crappy day, I am honestly lost for words to describe how pissed off I am. I know things could have gone worse (i could have had my car stolen, or the package lost, etc), but for a broke university student, I simply did not need these problems.

Damn bro, I'm hella sorry to hear that. I know how you feel... it's not fun paying for unwarranted costs as a broke *** college student (I just got my bumper and fender f*cked in a hit-and-run). Good luck with that head. Hopefully it's just a matter of getting another cam gear..?
THat sucks man. But i have a fix for the shift ****. Usually ***** like those come with a nut that goes upside down onto the shifter, you screw that down, then screw the **** on. Screw the **** down as far as you can, then if its crooked, turn it so that the numbers are straight and then tighten the nut against the ****.
DUDE thats some Sh*ttyA$$ Luck man.. I am probably guessing the entire head isnt damaged. Maybe only the cam and cam gears.. If you need some replacement parts let me know.. I got a x girlfriend that works as a phone girl at a huge shop. They import JDM stuff a massive scale.. Let me what you need and I'll probably get the parts for free. Let me Know man.. I hate to hear bout someone that has that much horrible luck.. You will feel better in no time..

I work @ UPS, and yes some stuff does get damaged. However, no more stuff than with fedex or any other bulk shipping company...At least we actually get **** to your house, fedex brings a box to my house after about 3 days of giving their dumbasses directions, then I get a package a week later and they can't find it again.
As for the misfortunes, that bites bad. I hope that the cam gear is the only damage...and thieves suck!

WOW, thanks for the support guys, it's REALLY appreciated. Just to have a string of bad luck like that all at once really tore me up. I'll be going to the dealership today after work to get a mechanic to look at the head and estimate damage. I have $450 UDS (around $600 CDN) insured on the head, which will hopefully be enough to cover the cost on the cam gear and possibly a cam). I'll keep you guys updated when I get back in the afternoon.
And for the guy willing to try and get me free parts,
for you man. thanks again everyone for the support!

sorry to hear of your misfortune.
however a broke college student need not have such an expensive car hobby... If some things arent going your way, read the signs and know when to back off or change directions.
Dont get bend out of shape due to these few things. Lots of worse things could have happened. Just consider it a learning experience and move onto different things.
Good luck and i hope you feel better.

about your shift ****, get a nut the same thread as the shifter, and tighten the **** down onto it, that way you get the numbers/gears lined up, tighten the nut up to the ****, and it's tight. i had to do my CTR **** that way

. Make sure to check the cams, and everything else associated for damage.
