Yesterday morning when I was about to leave my street for school (driving van), I noticed my driver's door was slightly open. I quickly checked to see what is wrong. Both my doors were unlocked. My heart stopped. I go in my car to see a MESSS. I could tell they are IDIOTS because they tried to steal my TAPE DECK! How ghetto can you BE?!? They ripped off the *****, ripped off the face cover, and tried to pull it out. They didn't take it.
I started to check all my other stuff in my car and I can't believe they didn't take ANYTHING!
I had a NEW ITR console, NEW tool box FULL with tools, NEW rear mount bracket for my B16 swap, NEW shift ****, armani cologne, bunch of other tools, my sunglasses, my locking lug nut key, etc...
They must have encountered some other people cuz it seemed like they just left the car with nothing stolen. THANK GOD
The thing I am wondering is: How did they get into my car without any damage on my locks / windows?
My other friend with an EF said he can unlock his car with ANY key. He tried his key on my locks and mine stayed locked. I definately need a ****** alarm... I'm thankful that nothing was taken, but I'm pissed off that someone tampered with my ****. I swear.... if i catch any of these *******... holy ****** **** hairs i'll kill em!

sorry to tell you, but i could take off with your crx with 2 tools, since i'm not one to start a theft ring or insite anyone to do this I'm not going to state what they are. I highly suggest you think about an ignition cut off and a fuel cut off

He just gave you two really good tips on how to make it harder for thieves to take your car and you give him a thumbs down? If a guy that says he can get away with your car with two simple tools offers you advice on how to make your car harder to steal I'd suggest you take it.
Sorry to hear your car got messed with, but luckily the outcome wasnt so bad.

Yes, he gave me 2 good tips... but he didn't have to say that he can take my car with 2 tools. His words just hit me harder i guess since im already in a pissed off state.

So what do you do once you got into the cars you broke into? You say you aren't a "car thief". So you steal systems/subs/amps/interior stuff? I'm saying this btw because you said you "can get in it in a few seconds"... i assume that you did this many times and you are good at it.
Listen man, nobody wants their cars broken into. I've never tried it, I don't know how, and I don't even think about it.
Thats great you know how to break into cars, you are the # one hated person in the car enthusiasts world

I worked at a auto detail shop and when cars doors got locked with keys in them I opened the doors and a friend of my dads used to be a locksmith so I learned how this stuff.
Sorry for being well informed.
I also know how to take out motors, pistons, cranks, cams, rims, suspension, seats, Hell I Know how to take every part of a car apart.
I guess I shouldnt have said that cause if I know how to do all of that I must steal motors and what not to.
I would never steal anything let alone systems since I think stereos are kinda lame.
I am not perfect at doing this but I can usually do it vary fast, I am sorry you think somebody with alot of car experience wouldnt know how to easily enter a car.

You need to start changing the way you think if you want to learn how to make your car more theft proof. You need to think like a thief so that you'll know how to help strenghen the weaknesses a thief will go for. I am not a car thief, but I like to think that I am smart enough to think like one. How do YOU expect to protect your car if you dont want to even think of what a thief is gonna try?
There is a difference between an actual car thief that steals cars, and an honest person that knows how to think like one.

So is there a way to stop a thief from entering my car? Other than an alarm?
I have a club... thats my only defense from someone "stealing" my car... but i have no defense for someone who may try to enter my car.
I hear that alarms are useless since they can just cut it off in a few seconds.

Hhaaha. That sucks. My car was also broken in to. They ripped out the tape deck, and I guess they realized that it was just that . . . . a tapedeck! So they put it back! Losers. Either way, a tape deck is enough reason for me to crush the lives of some mothers.
To guys with no steady cash flow. Go beg on a freeway offramp.

To make my car theft proof or harder to steal here are some things I would do. Some of them being on the extreme side though.
Ign kill switch
Fuel kill switch
car alarm
brake pedal Club
park your car in hard to reach areas for tow trucks
hood locks (kinda like the hood pins)
trunk locks if your trunk has mounting holes
shaved door and trunk locks
weld plates inside the door to prevent slim jimming
shatter-proof glass all-around (definately extreme)
removable steering wheel
There are also a few things you can do like keeping a low profile both in real life and on internet forums. Dont give pics of your car out to anyone on the internet, especially if they live in the same or nearby city/country as you *hint hint*. Get dark tint all around, or if local laws dont allow that use sunlight blockers when you park the car. Use solid/opaque sunlight blockers that cover up the entire front windshield. Also buy two sunlight blockers for the driver and passenger side door (the kind you can stick on with a suction cup). Cover up VIN numbers on your dash (check local laws about this). Remove your front and rear licens plate and cover up VIN when going to the local track. Take alternate routes to and from home to places you usually drive too (ie work or school). And lastly be on the lookout for other people with fixed up rides paying attention to you or following you. Be careful when talking to strangers.
EDIT: also try putting a Glock, Smith and Wesson or Remington sticker on your bumper or window. This might backfire though because even car thieves nowadays carry guns of their own, and usually they work in groups.

I can take off your club....is'nt going to take me more then 3 min.
The door post above....READ IT!!!!!!!
I can break a window with a sheet metal marking tool and would be quite as a mouse as well....YOUR ONLY WAY OF SAVING YOUR CAR IS TO FOLLOW BlueShadow's ADVICE.
Except that hard to reach area for tow trucks...umm no area is hard to reach with a tow truck, there are magazines dedicated to this and show how to step by step how to get a car out of almost any situation.
The shatter-proof windows....ummm...you better be like 50 cent or something.
The cable to your hood is about a wire cutter/stripper away from being popped.
Car alarm...PAGER w/ A BACK UP BATTERY FOR THE ALARM<<<<

Thanks man, those all seem to be very nice tips
I'm buying a basic alarm tomorrow. And I'm talking to a friend right now who will teach me how to configure kill switches in any part of my interior.
I don't know, most kids in my block know me, and are cool to me... and know that the teal slammed civic is mine. They don't **** around with me because they respect that im in the army. I think someone from another area might be stalkin my car or something. I feel like camping out one night and beating the **** out of em! Last year, my brother's alpine deck was stolen from his EK hatch... i HATE thieves.

When you get your alarm installed you should also get your rear and side rear windows tinted if they aren't already done. And also get the window blockers so people cant see what's in your car. When you take your alarm to get installed be wary of which car/audio shop you go to. Make sure you go to one that has a good reputation, not some hole in the wall shop.
Your car may have been slim jimmed instead of opened with a spare set of keys because the car was still there and not driven off. They also seemed to be more interested in car audio parts then the car itself. That would lead me to believe that they were beginners and only knew about audio systems. You may want to consider holding off on buying that $2000 car audio system if you had one planned in the future. Personally I dont any of that stuff in my car so it makes my car less of a target.
