Default lowering 90 accord ex (help)

what's up guys? i am about to lower my 90 ex but the thing is i don't have the money to do it. so i searched here and i read somewhere that i can cut the springs. now i have never done it before and what i read from the search didn't help me a lot. first i need to know if it could be done. second i need to know how much am i going to cut the springs etc... in other words what do i need to do so i can lower my car at least 1&1/2 inch. how would it run after i have done all of these.
am i better off buying new springs and shock and how much would they cost me if i wanted to buy them.

Please don't cut your springs for even thinking it. I would just wait to buy some, check ebay for some eibachs or whatever spring or coilover set up you like. I got my sportlines for 75 bucks, 100 shipped to my door. Don't cut them just to be lower because you will cause tons of problems NTM your ride will be *** can we say BOUNCE??

dont cut them. you'll have an uneven ride, and it will be bouncy as hell. save your money, and do it right the first time.

edit: http://www.groupbuycenter.com always has group buys on springs, so you could try them for a deal. otherwise, just save up, and do it right the first time.

Cutting your springs is a bad, bad idea! For example lets say you actually do cut them, what do you think will happen if you get air over a bump and your springs decompress? When you land the springs might not be in the correct position and if they get compressed the wrong way it can mess up your car royally and possibly hurt someone in the process. I have a friend who has seen what happens when a spring is compressed and then loosened while still on the car, and it shot off like a rocket. Luckily the two dipsh*ts werent hurt but it couldve been bad. So just remember it saves time it saves money and most importantly it can save someones life by doing something the right way!
Ok Im off my soap box now.

Don't cut it unless you are looking to wreck the car.

Get a set of coil-overs, That way you can lift the car when you need (i.e. winter time) and you can set it for the height you want.

As said DO NOT CUT.

good luck

If your just wanting a small drop like an inch or so I would go with either H&R springs or the eibach pro kit. Good luck and thank you for not choosing to cut your stock springs.

THANK YOU guys for making up my mind and telling me what to expect from cutting the springs.
i am lowering my car so i can be more in control in turns etc and i think it looks better. what i learn from the serch button is that the most i can lower my car without coilover is 1.85inch.
by the way do u guys have any pic of how would the car look if i lower it that much. if u have any please post them.

thanks again for the replys
