Are all SOHC bottom ends the same?
Hey yeah...
I noticed you posted alot of started topics. You might get in trouble for that. LoL
Just post everything under the title "Lots of SOHC questions: N00b. Please help." or Search. People get upset when you do that. LoL.

yellow-jacket is correct, also if you look at engine like the d15 the stroke is shorter at 84.5 compared to the 1.6 @ 90mm, the rod and main journals differ on these two as well.

true for the most part, but this is not something you should be going around saying - many parts are not interchangeable. the d family isn't nearly as standardized as the b.

sweet..then maybe i will stick a D17 crank into my D15b7 and slap in some Y8 rods and a Y8 oil pan for good measure. i could top it all off with some CX pistons, you know the ones with 8 valve reliefs, that way when i start it up they can tag my head and **** up half the valves. but it would never start because the d17 crank wont fit in the d15 due to different journals, the Y8 rods wont fit the d17 crank without machining, and the Y8 oil pan doesnt work on the d15b7. this would mean that all the work i spent getting the y8 intake manifold flange notched out so it would mount flush to my b7 head was just a waste of time. damn
not all Dseries parts are as interchangable as you think. some things work, some require machining, and some just dont work. **if you stick to a specific generation (92-95,96-00,00+) you will have a little better luck with interchanging parts.....the search button is your friend. also check out http://www.alternativehonda.com -a little more sohc oriented site
