what gauge is required to run two amps in the back of car...
the current rear amp is a cheapie powering the two front co-axials and two rear co-axials - i belive about 50 to 100w RMS power...
i am installing the subs which have their own kicker amp powering two JL 10in 160W subs...
can i just piggy back the power of the first amp that has a good 6ga fused wire running from teh battery?
or should i run a seperate sub amp power cable?
my thought is that the first amp running the smaller speakers will not suck too much juice and the sub amp should draw most of the power...
thoughts anyone?

4 awg.
But I would go 2 awg in case you run more power in the future and it allows you to bare wire two 4 awg to 2 amps.
No don't run more then one main wire.
they are calle d fused distribution blocks.
Get one.

I'm running 2 amps off of a 4 ga. wire with no problems. A fused distribution block is always a good idea, with the correct fuses in it.
OK - i think i will run a new main power wire of 4ga and a new dist. block..
gonna cost a touch more, but better than doing it half assed...
thanks for your comments guys
