Default Turboing a stock ls motor

so check it i have a 93 LS. Its got about 115,000 miles on it. Its it safe to put about 8 pounds of boost in it. what do i have to do before to get the motor ready i don't want to rip the motor out and do internals will it be ok. I know i need to but in bigger injectors(what size), bigger fuel pump, and high flow fuel rail. What else do i need. I just want a daily driver that will last me and have sufficent boost.

You should be fine with the stock engine as long as it's in good shape. Get it compression and leakdown tested and make sure everything is running good. If everything is good, then you shouldn't have any problems. You will need proper fuel management, I recommend a larger fuel pump, larger injectors, and a tuned Hondata setup with the boost option.

Internals are for pussies..

You can easily run 8-10 psi on those engines and be safe...

I would do a leakdown and compression test before you go further, if everything seems right, do it up...

Make sure you get bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump, and hold on..

LS-T works very well! lots of torque..

Im just finishing up mine now! should be fun..

damn, thats pretty good mileage for that year. you should be fine, just do as mentioned above, a compression test only at the very least. it'll last you a good while if you do what you need to do right, and b18a's are cheap to replace so if you blow it a replacement wouldnt be a big deal. you say you'll be runnin only 8psi, but you might wanna turn it up some day so i'd go with some 550cc injectors.

i ran 8 psi on my stock ls...it ran great...i had prelude 345cc injectors and an fmu for fuel management....i DID however spin a rod bearing..my car had 150k miles...im gonna do another turbo setup on the new stock ls...

save your money and get some dsm injectors...you can get them for cheap....you already have a resistor box so it will be easy...they just clip in...i would also recommend the safc...you will have to lean out any injector bigger than a 350cc...

Good luck and let us know how it goes

I'm actually looking to do the same thing with a '92 LS...

I should have the car ready for boost by about December.

Keep us updated on how your project goes

Im at 80k running 14.5 psi, compression 165 across the board.

If your motor is healthy 8 psi is cake
