Default Help Me - AEM Fuel Rail Obstruction!

I bought a used fuel rail for a d-series engine. I have a 97 HX (d16y5) engine and the end of the fuel rail is hitting the circled part. It looks like to me this fuel rail isn't for my engine. The bolts would line up if that black thing...don't know what its called wasn't there.

What is the thing called that's circled in the 1st and 4th pic? Can that be moved to the opposite side of the fuel rail?
Check out the pics.

What do you guys think? My car is in pieces right now...

The "thing" is a pulsation dampener.

You can swap the ends on the AEM rail, but you might not like fabbing a longer fuel line. Just flip-flop the port adapter and the 9/16" plug to opposite sides.

I was thinking the same thing, no big deal now though. I decided to put the stock rail back on and put the AEM FPR on. Works fine. I don't think that rail is even for my engine.

Hx's have egr valves, thats what the big ugly thing on your intake manifold is. You could easily make it work, but an hx will never use that much fuel anyway so whats the point.
